Abstract

This paper details the development and application of the Technological Pedagogical History Knowledge (TPAHK) model, a new professional development framework for history teachers that is based on an integrated framework determined by the authentic learning approach and the Technological Pedagogical History Knowledge (TPHK) model. A program for teacher trainers that aims to integrate ICT into scientific classroom practice also elaborates on and applies the TPHK curricular aspects and related training sessions. Using the TPHK professional development model as a lens, a brief overview of the project, its successes, and participant perspectives are provided. ‎The program's effect evaluation findings are then presented, showing that history teachers reported significant TPHK knowledge and a greater willingness to accept and use this framework in their education. Finally, in order to address future policy models addressing teacher preparation for integrating ICT in education, we draw on the necessity to broaden TPHK by introducing a fourth dimension, the Educational Context within Pedagogy, Content, and Technology mutually interact.‎
